Love

Love: Eye of the Heart
– Mary Jo Magar –
We sing the song of love by instruction,
By example of our one world long loud
With one wail: “love me, unique from the crowd.”
All evil in its touch of destruction
Reaches from depths of one false induction
Presuming lack of love, hence, disavowed,
Striving to be heard, chosen, elite, proud,
While always failing at self-seduction.
So much singing is so much less seeing
That lack, love, life itself, each a petal
Of the one rose by every name, being,
So are makers of the human fettle
In which ungrasping is grasp for freeing
The heart’s clear vision of its own mettle.
